I met Danish designer Emma Jorn on a beautiful sunny Friday in March at Frye museum in Seattle. Outside there was no sign of rain, but knowing Seattle it was just a matter of time before it will come back, just like in Copenhagen.

Emma, a costumes designer by training, established Takaokami in 2010 after visiting Japan. While touring the land of the Rising Sun she was impressed by the local colorful and stylish rainwear. It was very different from her native rainwear that seemed to be designed for hiking only.
Takaokami, meaning Rain God in Japanese, was created, where Emma combines Asian and Scandinavian design elements to provide fun and stylish rainwear for everyday activity.
