Pine Nuts Lamb Patties

This is an easy and quick recipe that gives you the opportunity to serve something different if you are tired of having chicken, steak, or fish. You can serve them as the main dish next to couscous and steamed vegetables, or upgrade your usual burgers by using these rich flavored patties instead of the usual beef ones.

Lamb meet is great for chapped lips in the winter, due to the lanolin – the natural fat of the sheep. This recipe is for people who are not afraid of fat  (there is Turkey for people with fat phobia). If you make them on a skillet (you can also grill them outside) I recommend that you use a splatter screen to cover the skillet and prevent the fat from splashing all over your cook top.

Prep time: 15 minutes
Servings: 2-4

1lb (0.5 kilo) ground lamb
1/3 cup pine nuts
1/3 cup water
2 tbs amino liquid/soy sauce
1 tbsp za’atar (optional)
½ tsp granulated garlic
¼ tsp cumin
salt and pepper

Heat skillet or grill on high heat.
Mix water and amino liquid/soy sauce with spices.

Add lamb and mix together.
Add pine nuts.

Create 4 even patties. Place on the hot skillet/grill. No need to add cooking oil, the meat has plenty of it.

Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side.
