While most of us desire to be happy in life, how many of us actually ask ourselves – what makes me the happiest?
It never occurred to me to ask myself this question, until recently. It was when I started feeling a profound feeling of continuous joy that made me curious to understand the core reason of it. This exhilarating sensation is when you are completely immersed in the moment, which has no before and no after, and you want to bask in it forever.
In December I started working as a stylist for Macy’s in Bellevue, WA. When I started my new role I was given an iPad so I could be mobile with my social media activity.
Soon I realized that taking photos of all the beautiful things around me, trying to capture how they make me feel and how they inspire me, makes me the happiest person on the planet. In the morning I’m so excited to go to work to find more beautiful subjects to photograph, and by the end of the day I wish I had more time and energy to continue doing what I love and enjoy.
This job made me realize that being creative and surrounded by beauty makes me the happiest.
What makes you the happiest? When do you feel that you can immerse yourself in doing something or experiencing something that gives you so much joy that in that moment nothing else matters?
